Article: Bozeman Opts Not to Vote on Coal Trains - Bozeman Daily Chronicle

Aug 9th, 2012

For now, the Bozeman City Commission will not take any action on the potential impact of more coal trains traveling through town.

At the commission’s regular meeting Monday night, only two commissioners supported putting the issue on a meeting agenda for a vote. Support from either three of the five commissioners or the mayor was needed.

Members of the Bozeman Community Coal Action Group and Northern Plains Resource Council have asked the city to sign a letter requesting to be part of an environmental study of the effects of added coal train traffic.
